Ingredients:
1. Potato - pressure cooked for 2 to 3 whistles and cubed
2. Onions - as required
3. Garlic Pods - few crushed
4. Turmeric powder - a little
5. Red chilli powder - a little
6. Curry leaves - few
7. Salt - as required
8. Asafoetida - as required

Recipe:
1. In a Pan, heat oil and Temper Mustard seeds and broken urad dal.
2. Add Curry leaves, Crushed Garlic pieces and saute for a while.
3. Add Onions and saute for a while.
4. Add Turmeric powder, Red chilli powder and give a stir.
5. Add cooked and cubed potatoes. Also add required salt and Asafoetida.
6. Cook for a while till the potatoes are lightly browned.
Notes:
1. If you want a bright red colour for the podimas, Kashmiri Red chilli powder can be used.
