Quick and Easy Palkova - Peda - MilkSweet

 

  Palkova is a super delicious Sweet which is very Famous throughout India. But it has different names in different places. Generally while making Palkova, Milk is cooked and the milk solids are reduced by the evaporation of water content in the milk. Sweetness is added to it. But here in this recipe, Palkova is prepared by an Instant Method which nearly takes around 10 minutes for the preparation. Let us get into the recipe.

Ingredients:

1. Sweetened Condensed Milk - 1 can (300 ml)
2. Milk Powder - 1 cup
3. Ghee (or) Butter - 3 spoons
4. Curd (or) Buttermilk - 3 spoons



Palkova can be prepared both in Microwave and Stovetop. Here Let us see both the methods

Microwave Method:

1. Take a deep Microwave safe bowl.
2. Mix all the ingredients in the bowl.


3. Microwave for 1 to 1 and a half minute. The milk tends to solidify. The condensed milk tends to rise in the bowl. It may overflow. So keep an eye. If it rises over the brim stop microwaving to avoid the spill. Microwaving time may vary.


4. Mix the content well and again microwave for 1 to 1 and a half minute. Repeat the process until the Palkova consistency is reached.


5. Palkova consistency will be reached within 10 minutes.



Stovetop Method:

1. Without switching on the flame, take a Non stick pan and add all ingredients and mix well.
2. Switch on the flame and keep stirring.
3. Stop stirring in between and leave the content idle for half a minute. The milk solids get cooked and settle at the bottom. Mix well and keep stirring again.
4. Repeat this process until Palkova consistency is reached.
5. If you leave the content idle without stirring for a long time, Palkova may get sticked to the bottom and get browned. So take care not to brown the Palkova.
6. Stop cooking once the desired and non sticky consistency is reached.


7. Do not over cook the Palkova. It will become dry.
