Ingredients:
- Gram Flour - 1/2 Cup
- Sugar - 1/2 Cup (1/4 cup in a bowl and 1/4 cup in a bowl)
- Melted Ghee - 1/2 Cup
- Water - 1/8 Cup
General Ratio :
1:1:1
GramFlour:Ghee:Sugar
Water - 1/4th part
Recipe:
- Grease a pan with ghee and set it aside.
- Dry roast the gram flour or roast it with a spoon of ghee till a nice aroma arises. Take care not to burn the gram flour. If the gram flour is not properly roasted, you will have a raw taste in the Mysore Pak and brown colour will not be attained.
- Sieve the gram flour. This step ensure the smooth texture of the Mysore Pak.
- Dissolve the Gram flour in 1/4 Cup in one bowl of melted ghee without lumps.
- Heat a pan and dissolve the sugar in the Water. Let the Sugar solution boil till it reaches the One-String Consistency.
- When the Sugar syrup attains the One-String Consistency, dissolve the Gram Flour Mixture in the Syrup without lumps and keep stirring.
- Add a spoonful of ghee (from the other 1/4 cup ghee) once in a while and keep stirring till the ghee gets absorbed. Then again add ghee and keep stirring.
- At one stage the mixture becomes non sticky and comes off from the bottom of the pan while stirring.
- At this stage transfer the mixture to the greased pan. Smoothen the top of the Mixture.
- Let it cool down for 1/2 an hour to 1 hour
- Cut the Mysore pak into desired shape
- Enjoy the Yummy Mysore Pak
